During the 1990s, Lukáš Luk’s work appeared several times in the literary journal DOTYKY.

Later he was published in the journal LET.

He contributed regularly to the column “World through the eyes of Lukáš Luk” published on the Internet portal AMNEZIA.

In 2006, Luk won first place in the literary competition 2 × MÚZING for his short story “The Disciple of Professor Kowalski.”

He won the most listener votes in a competition of unpublished manuscripts in the radio show The Literary Review.

In 2010 Luk’s first book, Tales from Považský Sokolec, illustrated by Rudolf Krivoš, was published by PETRUS.

Tales from Považský Sokolec was shortlisted for Anasoft Litera 2011, Slovakia’s largest and most prestigious literary award for prose. The book was also nominated for the Golden Gander 2011 award at the European Festival of Humor and Satire KREMNICA GAGS.

Tales from Považský Sokolec aired in serialized format on Slovak Radio, read by Peter Sklár.An excerpt from the book was published in Slovak Literary Review 2/2011.

An English translation of one of the stories from Tales from Považský Sokolec was published in the American literary journal Ozone Park. Translation: Magdalena Mullek.

The translation was mentioned by Michael Stein, the editor of Literalab, a blog devoted to Central European writing.

In 2013 Luk’s second book, Mystery of the Považský Bull, illustrated by Milan Laluha, was published by PETRUS, with support from the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.

Mystery of the Považský Bull aired in serialized format on Slovak Radio, read by Richard Stanke.

Mystery of the Považský Bull was shortlisted for Anasoft Litera 2014, Slovakia’s largest and most prestigious literary award for prose.

His third book, Honey Thieves, will be published by PETRUS by the end of 2015, with financial support from the Slovak Ministry of Culture.

An excerpt from Honey Thieves, translated by Magdalena Mullek, was published in BODY literature in conjunction with the book’s Slovak debut.
